Barking Studios

The target group for the start-up are Urban Design Dog Parents. Creative and design oriented dog parents who live in small apartments in urban areas. Their dogs spread their toys all over the floor when they are playing with them, and they stay there after they are done. This creates a mess and is a frustration for their parents. The look of the toys clashes with the interior which makes them even more visible and irritating.
With Barking Studios we deliver peace-of mind and a stress-free home by offering aesthetically pleasing and minimalistic dog toys that blend in with our customers home.
The Barking Studios product line consist of three products : The B, The Y and The O. The forms, shapes and functions of these toys are based on in-depth consumer interviews about the dogs favourite toys and also the parents favourite toys. The three products together form the Barking Studios Sculpture, a sculpture and design object for the Urban Design Dog Parents to have in their apartment.
What makes Barking Studios stand out from the competitors is that we design with the parents in mind and not only with the dogs preferences.
This project involved: market research, target group research, in-depth interviews, concept development, product development and pricing strategy.
